Code 43

Code 43 appears in Device Manager when a device or its package reports an unspecified failure and Windows stops the device. Opening Properties and reading the General tab confirms the status. The cause can be corrupted software, failed firmware, unstable power, a bad cable, or physical hardware, so the number alone does not identify which one. Start with a full restart, reconnect removable hardware directly to another port, and reinstall or roll back the model-matched package. If the same device produces the code on another computer, hardware becomes more likely. Avoid forcing unrelated INF files, because a mismatched package can create the same status and make the original cause harder to isolate.
