G-Sync
Definition
NVIDIA proprietary adaptive sync technology.
Detailed explanation
G-Sync is NVIDIA's adaptive-refresh technology for coordinating a compatible display's refresh timing with the frame rate produced by the GPU. Users enable it in NVIDIA Control Panel after connecting a supported monitor, commonly over DisplayPort. When active, it reduces tearing and uneven motion inside the display's supported variable-refresh range. If the option disappears after a change, verify the monitor's own adaptive-sync setting, cable and port, graphics-package version, and selected display mode before assuming the panel has failed. A clean installation may reset the control-panel option. Adaptive refresh does not fix low frame rates by itself, and frame-rate limits near the top of the monitor's range can help keep operation inside the variable window.
