Thunderbolt
Definition
High-speed hardware interface developed by Intel and Apple.
Detailed explanation
Thunderbolt combines PCIe data and DisplayPort video over one compact connector, supporting fast storage, docks, monitors, and other high-bandwidth peripherals. Its USB-C-shaped connector does not guarantee that an ordinary USB-C cable or port supports Thunderbolt, so check the lightning symbol and the PC specifications. Windows may show a controller, router, and connected devices in Device Manager, while newer systems manage authorization through built-in USB4 settings. If a dock is not detected, use a certified cable, connect it directly, install the system maker's controller and firmware updates, and approve the device if the security policy asks. Never interrupt dock or controller firmware updates, because the connected ports can become unavailable.
