FreeSync

FreeSync is AMD's adaptive-refresh branding built around the VESA Adaptive-Sync standard. A compatible monitor varies its refresh timing to match frames from the graphics processor, reducing tearing and judder without requiring a fixed refresh cadence. The option appears in AMD Software when the monitor, connection, and selected mode all support it; many displays also require Adaptive-Sync to be enabled in their on-screen menu. If flicker appears at very low frame rates, test a stable frame-rate limit and confirm that the game stays within the panel's variable range. NVIDIA may label some compatible displays as G-Sync Compatible, but support and behavior still depend on the exact monitor, cable, port, and graphics package.
